Jonas Funke is a physicist with a strong entrepreneurial mindset and over 13 years of expertise in DNA nanotechnology. He is highly skilled in managing complex R&D initiatives
with long-term strategic vision while fostering a culture of innovation and adaptability.
Since 2022, Jonas has served as the CSO of Plectonic Biotech, a groundbreaking spin-off from the Technical University of Munich funded by the German Agency for Disruptive Innovation (SPRIND). He leads the development of DNA-based conditional T cell engagers, pushing the boundaries of cancer immunotherapy. In addition to driving cutting-edge research, Jonas oversees the strategic direction of Plectonic’s scientific portfolio, ensuring the successful transition from concept to pre-clinical development.
Jonas holds a Ph.D. from the Technical University of Munich and has made significant contributions to the field of DNA nanotechnology through publications in high-impact journals such as Nature Nanotechnology and Science Advances. He is also an inventor on several patents covering therapeutic and diagnostic applications of DNA nanotechnology, underscoring his role in shaping the future of this innovative field.
