Dr. Benjamin Kick

Benjamin Kick, co-founder of Plectonic Biotech, is a visionary biotechnologist and expert in DNA nanotechnology and biochemical engineering. Since the founding of Plectonic Biotech in 2023, a pioneering spin-off from the Technical University of Munich supported by the German Agency for Disruptive Innovation (SPRIND), he has been driving the development and implementation of disruptive technologies as COO.

Benjamin holds a Ph.D. from the Technical University of Munich and has played a pivotal role in advancing DNA nanotechnology. He leads and continuously improves the entire production process, with a particular focus on the GMP-compliant manufacturing of DNA origami-based therapeutics. His expertise spans the optimization and scaling of complex biotechnological workflows, ensuring that production meets the highest regulatory and quality standards. Under his leadership, Plectonic Biotech has established state-of-the-art production capabilities, enabling the translation of DNA nanotechnology innovations into clinical-grade therapeutics. His dedication is key to making DNA origami-based drugs a reality for
